Staff Information

The dedicated staff at Sunnyside Equestrian Center is employed by the Monmouth County Park System. Instructors are certified by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA).

Those who are interested in becoming a therapeutic horseback riding instructor may begin their training with the Monmouth County Park System's (MCPS) Special People United to Ride (SPUR) sponsored therapeutic riding program. Training at Sunnyside Equestrian Center will provide the necessary experiences to prepare a potential instructor for the North American Riding for the Handicapped (NARHA) instructor certification process. Instructor candidates must be at least 18 years of age. Completion of this program does not constitute a teaching certification. Certification must be completed at a NARHA accredited training center.
